Where there is a dispute over a contract, what law will the courts apply?

  • FAQ: SINGAPORE
  • Date: 15.07.2010

The courts will give effect to the law chosen by the parties in their contracts provided that the choice is bona fide, legal and not contrary to public policy. In the absence of a chosen law, the courts will apply the law that has the closest and most real connection with the transactions.
