Can an employer claim tax deductions for employee-related expenses?

Under the Income Tax Act , an employer can claim tax deductions for expenses relating to employees if the expenses are wholly and exclusively incurred in producing income. There must be a sufficiently close connection between the expenditure and the income-earning process.
