Can loans in currencies other than the Malaysian Ringgit be made?

Loans in foreign currencies may be made to residents for business and productive purposes in Malaysia. However, foreign currency loans exceeding in aggregate the equivalent of RM10 million to resident individuals and RM100 million to resident corporations require prior approval of the Controller of Foreign Exchange.
