Are foreign tax credits granted by the Malaysian tax authorities? What if Malaysia has no tax treaty with the particular foreign coutry?
- FAQ: MALAYSIA
- Date: 15.07.2010
-
In Malaysia, foreign tax credits are given whether or not Malaysia has a tax treaty with the foreign country. If there is a treaty in place, the treaty would specify the method of credit and in some cases, the exemptions. In the absence of a treaty, the Malaysian tax legislation will apply where a unilateral tax relief may be granted.
