Are foreign individuals required to register for taxes in PRC?

For the employees of Chinese foreign investment enterprises and resident representatives of foreign enterprises in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), registration may be required to be completed upon entry into the PRC, depending on the in-charge tax bureau’s practice.
